Santa Cruz Juneteenth Celebration and the Monterey Rock & Rod Festival
Santa Cruz 31st Juneteenth Celebration begins this weekend
This year’s Juneteenth celebration will feature art as its main theme and “will feature music, poetry, dance, delicious soul food, kids’ activities, arts and crafts and a basketball skills contest as well as an outdoor art exhibition.“. A parade is also set to begin at 11am in front of city hall, where the Black Lives Matter mural sits.

Also on Saturday, the 16th annual Rock & Rod Festival will take place in downtown Monterey. The event features classic cars and classic rock, strictly from the 70s and earlier. Pablo Cruise is headlining the musical talent, along with Jeremy “Elvis” Pearce, The Memphis Sons, and more.
Anyone who has an eligible car (1975 or older) and would like to enter it into the event can do so on the website. The first car entry $80, then $30 for any additional. Admission to the event is free.
Monterey Rock & Rod Festival will be from 10am to 6pm, Saturday, June 17 at the Custom House Plaza in Downtown Monterey.
