The softball team was the first girls team of any sport at Monterey High to claim a CCS title, ending as the No. 8 seed in Division II. They also won ten games in a row, which won them the Northern California Division IV title.
The parade will be on Thursday, June 16 at 4 PM. The parade route is detailed in the article.
Local Aerospace company partners with MPUSD
Joby Aviation partnered with MPUSD to bring a five-day summer program to students. The program showed students the many different facets of the aviation industry, including piloting planes with the use of a simulator.
Joby plans to launch an aerial ride share service in the coming years, like an Uber or Lyft, but in the sky. It’s aircraft are designed for vertical takeoff and would be an alternative to traveling through traffic-congested highways.
The program was meant to introduce students to the industry in hopes that some would follow through and eventually become key parts of it later, whether it be with Joby Aviation or somewhere else.
Joby is planning on expanding to community colleges in Monterey and Santa Cruz as well, bringing more opportunities to students who normally wouldn’t have easy access to them.
