This Week on the Central Coast
Several annual events have announced their 2021 dates as local landmarks reopen.
This week was very slow for news in our area. Instead of covering the same virus news stories, I gathered a few big events that had announced dates and a couple new reopenings. I attached the original news articles to each of them if you wanted to read more about it.
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance - The car show is planned to happen on August 15 and Car Week will be the second week of August. The events are expected to draw large crowds and the hosts have all said they plan on spacing out vendors to allow people to distance.
Carmel Bach Festival - The music event usually takes place in July, but organizers thought it would be better to wait until fall this year, when considering how to accommodate the most people safely. The festival is scheduled from Oct 23 to Nov 5.
Dennis the Menace Park Reopening - Dennis the Menace did not reopen with other parks in March due to the fact that it is considered a regional attraction. Now, the park will be reopening on April 20. Park hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to sunset and Mondays, 1 PM to sunset. Additionally, group BBQ and picnic benches are now available for use by permit, which can be attained here.
The Old Custom House Reopening - The historic landmark will be open Tuesdays through Sundays, 10 AM to 4 PM. The park plans on starting their guided history tours soon.
