Deaths have gone up by over 450% in the same timespan. This Reddit user has been updating their graphs which track cases in Monterey county. California has moved most counties back into Purple Tier, which is the most restrictive tier for controlling the spread of the virus. Monterey County has been in Purple Tier since the state began using the color-coding. Under Purple Tier, restaurants may only open for outdoor dining and indoor retail must follow stricter occupancy limitations. The newest addition to the order is a curfew, which begins at 10 PM. Local law enforcement has stated that they will be focusing on educating the public about why the curfew is in effect, rather than issuing citations.
The Salvation Army is adapting its Thanksgiving day charities to keep everyone safe.

In Salinas, a drive-thru pick-up will be available at the Salvation Army’s location on North Main Street. Meals will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis beginning at 11:45 AM on Thanksgiving.
